The Clinic is embracing click-bait!

Just kidding. In mid-December I posted about our exploration of Social Media. As promised, we discussed and we inquired (we're lawyers after all), and we came to the conclusion that we will jump into some social media. We will be posting on our LinkedIN Group, we will be blogging here, we have a fancy new Facebook page, and anyone that likes is free to use our highly creative hashtag #uwlec on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or anywhere that accepts hashtags as the currency of cool.

We identified some specific reasons for making our decision to embrace social media and they might not be what you expect. Click here to see the top 10 reasons!

Just kidding again.

As you might expect, for us social media is not about new client acquisition. For us, use of social has two primary purposes: first, is furthering our educational mission; the second, is reputational. The two, obviously, go hand in hand.

We have a lot of great content, including instructions, manuals, guidebooks, photos, videos, and whole host of other materials about starting up a business. This information has been invaluable inside the Clinic, and it only makes sense to let others see, use, interact, and, more importantly, improve it!

We, as a group, hold and have access to a lot of great events; social media is a great platform for getting the word out about these events.

We also have a lot of really smart people that work for and with us. It would be great to give them the recognition they deserve. Social media lets the world see and interact with some really smart people at the University of Wisconsin.

I just ask that you be patient with us. We're still filling in the cracks and putting lipstick on our special pig. Much of this is still a work-in-progress and will be constantly evolving.
